Still catching up.
I slept in a little. I headed to Snohomish to hit some balls at a driving range with Chris as well as pick up some gear for myself and James. The weather was awesome. It was nice to hit some balls again. I headed straight to James' house to drop off his stuff before heading home. I spent the rest of the evening relaxing and prepping for the upcoming shoot. I really should not do these stupid all-nighters just to get things done at a leisurely pace. No need! Pffff.

The long trip home.
These travel days are always long but they are often enjoyable anyway. Steven and I went for breakfast a couple blocks away from the hotel. It was an excellent choice and a delicious meal for sure. We caught an Uber to the airport and made the first flight to Houston with Berndt. Berndt split off to continue to Austin as we stopped for lunch before our final leg to Seattle. The weather was beautiful and the scenery matched it well all the way back. I basically came straight home, hung out with Carlin and Pops for a while, then called it a night. I need to reset everything tomorrow before I head back out on Thursday for the next shoot. Fun!

The lasting day.
It was a pleasant, humid, thoroughly enjoyable concluding day. The work was hard enough but it was all a good payoff to see the family's responsive happiness. We actually had a decent turnout for the wrap dinner, which was unexpected, and I am quite grateful to work with such a quality crew.

A rainless day!
It may seem strange considering this time of year but we somehow avoided the rain for our entire work day and I think it was quite refreshing. The work itself went relatively well and we even got done about an hour early. A few of us went out for pizza for dinner and I headed out for dessert myself during the sunset. I travelled around a little to get a better view of the sunset and got to see an alligator in person, in the wild, for the first time. I even scared it away further into the delta waters as I walked up close to it on the dock. Fun times! Anyway, tomorrow is the last day of the shoot and I think we will have an interesting conclusion based on the things still remaining for the clean up.

Chugging through the rain.
The day started hot and humid, as they generally seem to here, but the last couple hours took a spin into the wily world of wacky weather and dropped a bunch of rain on us basically until we were packing up to leave. We had a good day nonetheless, however, and I think the whole shoot continued moving in a good direction. I enjoyed dinner with several of the guys here in the hotel before calling it a night.

Busting through the pile.
It was a fairly productive day in basically every way. I think the family made progress, the cleaners and organizers made progress, and the camera crew caught most of the action along the way. A few of us went out for dinner after work this time and enjoyed our meals at a nearby restaurant. It was a nice way to end the day.

Last day before cleanup begins.
It felt a bit slower than the previous days but was still just as important. I don't remember seeing a single cloud today so that was weird but the heat didn't destroy us as much as I would have thought it could have. We got done a bit early which was also nice. Dinner was good and it was a relaxing evening to follow. My arm hurts a little bit from my workout but that is pretty normal. Tomorrow should be fun.

The day of droning.
It was another solid day of b-roll except today included a bunch of landmark and action drone shots. There wasn't any rain so that was nice. It was quite hot and humid, though, even more so than yesterday. The bugs were a bit more of a nuisance as well. I drove the Uhaul truck back to the hotel today so that was a little different as well. Only three of us met up for dinner but it was delicious as usual. A solid ending to the day.
The wonderful world of humidity.
It was a little bit of a slow start but I felt pretty decent for most of the day. It was a very hot and humid day but we got through it as we usually do. One thunder storm passed through for about an hour. All in all a good start to things.

I forgot my usual journal. Ugh.
So this will take its place while I am on my work trip for the next eight or nine entries.
I somehow got up early so I could head to Chad's to drop off my car as usual. I caught my Uber into the airport and met up with Jay and Jon for our flight to Alabama. We had a layover in Dallas on the way but otherwise the travel was easy and normal. I did chat with an older gentleman on the short leg here which is somewhat unusual for me. His name is Neal and he seemed like a quality chap. Our crew met Chelsea in Alabama before coming back to the hotel for dinner before calling it a night.
Thus is the usual format of my hand-written journal entries. Pretty boring and basic but it still feels like a basically accurate record of my day. I might add in a couple general thoughts from time to time, somewhat like my old musings in this particular journal used to, though that remains to be seen considering my expected energy levels at the end of each work day while I am here. Fun times ahead for sure!

Still moving along.
Or moving along... still... but in motion. It never really stops. It's just a trip through the dimension of time, learning about what already will be as we go. I have much to do, and probably enough time to do it, but I am not managing my time very well. Such is the life of an attempter. Ha.

Mental energy, emotional energy, and physical energy.
It is sometimes greatly underestimated how much these three elements directly effect each other. They might be so interconnected one literally can not be unaffected by the others. And it is a bit of a wonder that emotional energy can literally be fed by reception of simple ideas and sometimes unexpected bits of imaginative chaos. Right now, for instance, I am fairly zapped physically... it is definitely affecting my ability to mentally power through the complex thinking I basically stumbled into without properly preparing myself for such an undertaking... and now I am just going to go to bed. Maybe I'll be luckier next time. Ha.

The mad fiend at work.
I have been quite lucky to have some really fun, challenging projects to work on this past month. Lots of great experiences and I think the results will be just as great if I have done, and can do, my part. Long days, fun people, interesting problems to solve. I look forward to the next batch!

Year in motion.
This new year has kicked off with a pretty decent pace of good things and more on the horizon. Lots of doing and planning for more doing, as it were. I like actually being busy. I still haven't gotten my demo reel revision completed but I am feeling like it's pretty close. And I even feel like I have some pretty solid content to show so that's encouraging. Now I just start by resuming the next day as usual. Time ain't stoppin' for nobody, no how!

Always looking ahead.
Some folks might think it could be robbing me of the experience of living in the present. That might be happening to some degree on occasion but it might also be fueling the motivation to do well now in preparation for tomorrow. I enjoy now. Truly. And I enjoy the prospect of tomorrow and tomorrow's tomorrow. I am a very lucky fellow!

Who cares about limits?
We are human creatures, limited in so many ways, and yet I don't think that it is a necessarily meaningful element that we will never ascend beyond said limits. Perfection and achievement are somewhat subjective and highly overrated. We the human creatures ascend in our wallowing, gnashing, and attempting. Such is the way of life and happiness.

Attempting to do it right.
Sometimes you succeed. Most of the time you fall somewhat short at the least. If you can minimize the average distance from the goal then I would call that a win anyway.

Working the long day.
I do enjoy staying busy with the things I love doing. Getting paid for it is even better, of course! It also feels good when I am able to do a good job for good people. And when they feed me good food I am quite delighted. And having a good time laughing and joking all the while getting things done... well, nothing beats that. And even when I take a moment to reflect on it all in overly positive, basically hyperbolic statements I am still just having even more of a good time. Super fun!
Planning and doing.
Two components of success. I like to think I am pretty decent at the planning part sometimes... and I'm even pretty decent at the doing part... but the doing part of the planning part doesn't always connect. I tend to plan things that never get done and just do things a bit spontaneously. I guess I can't complain for the actual doing that gets done. I need to get better at really putting it all together, though. Maybe that's a new years resolution or something... or maybe it's just trying to improve myself in life.
